Kritunga, a 5000 sqft South Indian restaurant specializing in Rayalaseema Cuisine, underwent a transformation from an old fabricated bar into a functional and aesthetic space.
The 150-seater restaurant features split levels and private dining areas, creating an intimate and cozy environment. A skylight above the stepped-up space evokes the feel of a Rayalaseema verandah, allowing fresh air and reducing the need for air conditioning.
Upcycled doors and windows from the client’s ancestral town were incorporated, while an arch wall serves as a visual buffer. The design embraces an earthy and tranquil ambiance, reflecting the region’s nature and culture with a simple and elegant atmosphere for patrons to relax and savor the food.
